XperDunn's Feb. 20th, 2006 Concert at S____ Manor
This morning I play Rock n' Roll, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and a few Swedish Folk Songs just for luck.
I realize here that Rock n'Roll is simpler but more physically demanding, and switch to a book of Swedish Folk Songs. Don't ask me why.

These next 3: 'Dearly Beloved', 'I'm Old-Fashioned', and 'You Were Never Lovelier', all by Jerome Kern, were used in an old movie titled 'You Were Never Lovelier' starring Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth. The previous weekend I had watched a DVD of the movie and had been inspired to practice the songs, so I thought I was ready. In my own defense, I don't think much of these particular piano arrangements, especially 'Dearly Beloved'.
Here I switch from the Jerome Kern to the Cole Porter Collection Vol I for the next five or so songs. I love Cole Porter. Does that make me gay? I don't care.

At this point in the program, I decide to fall back on the Irving Berlin songbook I'd had so much luck with last week (see Feb 13th Concert Menu). The next ten songs are the unfortunate result:

I proceed to slaughter an otherwise great song, Irving Berlin's 'I Love A Piano'.
